Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to head a team of DevOps professionals and work in close collaboration with a US-based client’s DevOps team. This role requires deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes automation, CI/CD pipelines, and proactive production system management across AWS (Primary), Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, ensuring best practices in deployment, automation, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with US client DevOps teams to align infrastructure goals and deliverables
  • Work on migration to move applications from legacy infrastructure to Kubernetes
  • Design and automate scalable Kubernetes-based infrastructure for both client-hosted and customer-specific environments
  • Implement and manage robust multi-cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS
  • Collaborate with development teams to deploy new application versions and support production rollouts
  • Build and improve comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems using tools like Datadog, Zabbix, Pingdom, ElasticSearch, and Graylog
  • Drive incident response, including root cause analysis, postmortem documentation, and long-term solutions
     

Workplace: Remote Position. Approx. 10 working days of travel required per quarter to the client's office in Virginia.

 

 

Must Have Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure automation
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and tools like git
  • Basic programing experience using Java or Python to automate tasks
  • Deep understanding of Linux-based systems administration
  • Experience with major cloud platforms: AWS
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Gyro, or CloudFormation
  • Experience in building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins/Gitlab/Github actions
  • Exposure to systems including MySQL, Apache, Tomcat, Java, and logging/monitoring stacks (Graylog, Kibana, Zabbix, Datadog)
  • Prior experience leading a team and working in client-facing or cross-functional environments
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure in production incidents
     

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Ruby or additional automation tooling
  • Experience in Azure and GCP
