Position Description

Bridgenext is seeking a Microsoft Fabric Engineer to modernize legacy SSAS-based BI platforms into Fabric-native architectures. This role is ideal for candidates with strong foundations in ADF, PySpark, SQL, and semantic modeling, who can grow into Fabric as the platform adoption scales. 

 

The role supports multiple concurrent projects and requires flexibility across Power BI, Databricks, and Fabric workloads. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive migration of legacy SSAS / SASstyle semantic models to Fabric Semantic Models
  • Build analyticsready datasets using PySpark and SQL 
  • Develop and orchestrate data pipelines using Azure Data Factory 
  • Enable Power BI reporting through welldesigned semantic layers 
  • Optimize refresh, performance, and cost across analytics platforms
  • Apply governance, security, and lineage best practices 
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders during modernization efforts 

 

Workplace:This is a remote role requiring full-time Eastern timezone working hours and quarterly travel to the Toronto office.  We can consider candidates based in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, or British Columbia

 

 

Must Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of BI and data engineering experience  
  • Strong experience with ADF, PySpark, and SQL  
  • Solid understanding of semantic modeling concepts  
  • Experience supporting Power BI reporting and data consumption  
  • Exposure to migration projects from onprem to cloud   

  

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Data Engineering, Semantic Models) 
  • Experience modernizing SSAS Tabular / Multidimensional models 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for analytics platforms 
  • Experience in regulated data environments

Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Bridgenext provides a reasonable range of compensation, based on full-time employment, for roles that may be hired as described above. The current salary range for this position is $135,000 - $155,000 CAD annually. Our comprehensive total rewards program goes way beyond a competitive salary
