Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong expertise in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, who has led development, enhancement, maintenance, and support projects.

The ideal candidate is data-driven, proficient in engineering and delivery metrics, and capable of setting objective goals and KRAs to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery.

You will work with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, QA, operations, business stakeholders) to deliver and support software solutions in the logistics / transportation / TMS ecosystem, but prior TMS domain experience is not mandatory - a strong technical PM with willingness to learn the domain is equally welcome.

Key responsibilities:

  • Project Management & Delivery
    • Own end-to-end delivery of software projects (new development, enhancements, integrations, and support)
    • Ensure adherence to SDLC best practices across requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support
    • Plan and manage scope, timelines, resources, and budget, ensuring alignment with business and customer priorities
    • Track and report project health metrics (velocity, cycle time, defect leakage, re-open rates, UAT sign-off, release stability) to stakeholders
    • Coordinate with internal and external teams for integrations, releases, and environment readiness
  • Domain & Functional Understanding (Logistics / TMS Context)
    • Understand the business workflows in logistics / transportation (such as orders, shipments, planning, tracking, billing) and how they are supported by the product
    • Translate business needs into clear, implementable requirements and user stories for engineering and QA teams
    • Partner with product and business stakeholders to prioritize backlog and make trade-off decisions between scope, time, and quality
    • Note: Prior TMS experience is not mandatory – candidates with strong software PM background and the ability to learn a new domain quickly are encouraged to apply
  • Engineering Metrics & Performance Tracking
    • Define and monitor KPIs and engineering metrics & insights to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement in delivery and support
    • Define and track OKRs / KRAs for teams (e.g., release predictability, defect leakage reduction, support SLA adherence)
    • Support adoption of DevOps and CI/CD practices in collaboration with engineering
  • Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with engineering, product management, QA, operations, and business stakeholders
    • Facilitate and mature Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban) - sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives
    • Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and escalations, ensuring timely communication and resolution
    • Prepare and share status reports, dashboards, and communication for leadership and customers

Tech Stack:  Kafka, Azure Event Hub, Redis Streams, Springboot, Kubernetes, Wiremock, Browserstack and BDD based frameworks like Karate.

Workplace:  This is a full-time, onsite/hybrid role in Green Bay, WI requiring in office at least 3 days per week.  Comprehensive benefits and Open PTO plan for those joining as employees but we are also open to contractors with a 6-month contract with strong potential to be long-term.

Must Have Skills:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in software project management (development, enhancement, maintenance, or support projects)
  • Strong expertise in SDLC, Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and familiarity with DevOps concepts
  • Proven ability to define and manage quantifiable goals, KPIs, and KRAs
  • Hands-on experience with Rally, Confluence, or similar Agile/project tracking tools
  • Understanding of integrations (APIs, web services, file-based, etc.)
  • Ability to read and discuss solution designs, interface specifications, and data flows with engineering teams

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus
  • Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, SAFe, or equivalent Agile/Project Management certifications(optional)
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation domains is a strong plus, but not mandatory
  • Exposure to TMS platforms (e.g., Oracle OTM, Manhattan, SAP TM, MercuryGate, Blue Yonder, or custom TMS) is an added advantage
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS, cloud-native applications, or AI/ML-enabled products

Professional Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to drive accountability and maintain clarity in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
  • High ownership and comfort working with distributed / cross-functional teams
